Kiev 1-4 Roma

just a quick note to say woot and that. Goals from Panucci, Giuly, Vucinic x2. Implausible as it may seem, Christian Panucci is on a great scoring run with 3 goals in his last 3 appearances (vs Scotland, Genoa and now Kiev). and bravo Mirko, who seems to find it easier to score in Europe than in the league.

Man Utd managed to beat Sporting despite what sounds a fairly poor performance and have thus won their group, leaving the Roma-Utd game on 12 December as a bit of a dead rubber. But that's fine, I might be able to relax and enjoy it a bit more.

And a dead rubber in the stands, too? That would take some of the wind out of the sails of any would-be trouble-makers, wouldn't it?
What do you think the chances of trouble would have been if it were a match with all to play for? How do you think it will go now, SP?

Kiev are awful, aren't they? A televised Roma game is a rare treat for me, but I couldn't stick it beyond half-time.

The Sky commentators made much of the fact that Vucinic has replaced Totti and Roma have apparently improved. Why do the British media have this thing about putting Totti down? Whatever, the commentators were surely wrong to suggest that Totti and Vucinic can't play in the same team.

Why can't Totti play furthest forward with Mancini-Vucinic-Giuly behind him?
