fish supper

tonight (Sunday) we went out and we ate a set menu consisting of:

Spaghetti alle Cozze e Vongole (with mussels and clams, cooked in white wine, garlic and parsley)
Risotto alla Pescatore (seafood & tomato risotto containing prawns, octopus, langoustines etc)
Lasagne al Pesce (fish lasagne containing squid, white fish & salmon with bechamel, mozzarella etc)

[just a small "assaggino" of each of these three first courses... mica siamo porchi noi...]

Then a mixed grill/fry consisting of 2 grilled langoustines, some deep-fried calamari in batter, a lightly panfried small fish (bream?) and some grilled king prawns. Served with a small green salad and lots of lemon.

A small and truly delicious home-made lemon sorbet followed.

Total cost, including 1/2 litre of local white wine, plus bread, mineral water and service: €23. That's £15.60 or AU$ 37.7 for my Australian readers. Happy days.

Match stuff from Roma-Messina to come. Meanwhile if AR would like to email me please, it would be to his advantage...
